Recommendations for Braille Displays

Hey all,

I was told by someone that for programming, I should use both a braille display and speech. Well, I have the chance to get one, but which one? I was told that since most IDE's wrap code to 80 columns, an 80-cell display would be the best; what do you think? Also, what models are best? Whatever I get, it needs to be compatible with JAWS 12, and should connect via a modern standard (that is, no PowerBraille 80 for me).

Thanks in advance,
Tyler

What kind of work do you do for which the braille display is useful, SF?

I am a call center agent and sometimes reading numbers to a customer and listening to them rather then listening to jaws and the customer is a whole lot practical then trying to make sense of jaws and the person I am talking tot.

YOu can't go wrong with the focus blue. It's I would say the best most affordable thing out there.

I actually have a Focus 40 for sale ($800, possibly $700) or Focus 80 for sale as well, price not decided.
That being said, I find little difference between braille displays really, some have interactive controls that I never use personally, others have cool features like Handytech's ATC, where the display switches lines automatically and measures your reading speed when you touch the cells, but neither of these is particularly useful in programming.
I love my Alva Satellite 574 (or 584), it is 84 cells, the most out there, but of course they went bust a few years back, though I think Optilec bought them.
Seika displays are not bad, their 80 cell is around 4000 dollars, may be 5k, sold by Perkins.
I like my Focus 80, but I have used my Alva for 10 years now and it is my main display, though bulkier than the Focus.
All connect via USB.
I have heard good tings about the Refreshabraille, but I know next to nothing about them.
Cheers

What do you mean by displays that switch lines automatically? FS has that, if I'm talking about the same thing, with Auto-Advance mode.

does the focus 40 have the auto advanced feature?
